The concert production is inspired by the works of the Latvian writer, fairy tale master Kārlis Skalbe, that help children come to better understanding of themselves, the traditional Latvian values and the wealth of their native language. The Sunday Musical Tales will invite the young listeners and their families to get in touch with the Latvian spirit and the wisdom, poetry and warmth of heart embodied in Skalbe’s fairy tales. The concert production was staged by Paula Pļavniece, known to regular Cēsis Concert Hall visitors from the Cello Cēsis Festival children’s concert series ‘Cello Tales with Melo M’. The role of the narrator will be taken on by the actor Arturs Putniņš, while the musical fabric created by the composer Laura Gustivska will be woven by the ReDo string quartet: Konstantīns Paturskis /violin/, Kristiāna Ozoliņa /violin/, Dāvis Sliecāns /viola/, Pēteris Ozoliņš /cello/.
