Every year, residents of Cēsis and guests of the city are treated to an opportunity to listen to the latest musical programme by Raimonds Pauls. This year’s concert in Cēsis will feature some undeservedly forgotten gems by the Maestro of Latvian pop music, as well as songs from his latest albums that are still on their way to the listeners: ‘Kad tu ej pie bitēm’ (‘When You Visit Bees’) and ‘Strauts un jūra’ (‘The Brook and the Sea’), the latter set to lyrics by Guntars Račs. The slightly nostalgic and melancholy programme is arranged into ‘four seasons’, like four stages of the composer’s creative career.
