The final days of the year bring an onstage meeting between Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the French maestro Julien Masmondet, well known to the Latvian listener, the virtuosic award-winning pianist Daumants Liepiņš, and Edgars Cīrulis’ trio who live and breathe the freedom of jazz.
From the masterpieces of Saint-Saëns to the poeticism of Debussy; from the colourful harmonies of the sisters Lili and Nadia Boulanger to Satie’s contemplative reflections and Ravel’s energetic turns and swerves ‒ the diversity of French music will be revealed in its refinement and its filigree nuances.
