Band of the Royal Danish Life Guards

Band of the Royal Danish Life Guards is the only professional concert band in Denmark, and one of the oldest in the world. It was established in 1658 by King Frederik III at the establishment of the Royal Life Guard.

Band of the Royal Danish Life Guards most distinguished task is to provide music for the Royal House. It is e.g. music at the famous guard parades through Copenhagen and at the majesty's residences, dinner music at the castles and music at state visits and receptions. The band is popularly known as the house orchestra of the Royal House.

The band also provides music for the Armed Forces in connection with parades and ceremonies. In addition, the music corps has a nationwide concert service with both classical and rhythmic repertoire and has been abroad several times to expand the profile of Denmark.

The band lives up to the Lifeguard's motto: "Pro Rege et Grege" - "For King and People".
