The Ukrainian-born Maxim Rysanov is currently rated among the world’s best and most charismatic viola players. Rysanov regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician in the UK and elsewhere; he has also appeared at various festivals and shared the stage with world-famous musicians. Born in Ukraine, he is currently pursuing his career as a viola player and conductor in London, one of the greatest European musical capitals. In recent years, he has performed with some of the best orchestras in Europe, Asia and USA.
The programme of the concert in Cēsis is built around the musical legacy of Franz Schubert, which will be represented by Polonaise for Violin and Orchestra and Symphony No. 5. Alongside Schubert’s original works, it will also feature variations on his music by contemporary composers.
