Peteris Vasks Festival
The Cēsis Concert Hall is launching a new festival dedicated to the music of the prominent Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks. The inaugural festival, aiming to reveal the different facets of Vasks’ oeuvre, invites music lovers took place on April 2018 with three concerts. Pēteris Vasks is undoubtedly the most performed Latvian composer abroad. His music sounds at all the major concert halls, played by some of the world’s greatest musicians. We would love to make Cēsis Concert Hall the Latvian home of Vasks’ music and to have people who appreciate and love his music converge here every April to experience the unworldly magic of these musical pieces again and again.The II Peteris Vasks festival will higlight 4 concerts on 13, 14 and 20 of April.

Before the festival concert "Lonely Angel. Meditation for Violin and String Orchestra" in the concert hall's organ hall everyone is invited to participate in the pre-concert conversation, to which musicologist Orest Silabriedis have invited composers Pēteris Vasks and Arturs Maskats, as well as the evening concert soloist, violinist Hugo Ticiatti.
